APPLIED
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better? Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped. : This component helped me understand the foundation of my topic better because I experienced that exercise without a healthy diet doesn't work, I had to research what a healthy diet was and apply it to myself, this helped me realize that the nutrition aspect is more time consuming than the physical aspect, it showed me that it is possible to workout almost everyday and keep a healthy diet, it showed me that it is harder (as a teenager) to change to a more nutritious diet (see additional post one), and I learned that some injuries may occur but there are other ways to continue being physically active (see additional post three). This component helped lead me to my first answer, which is, a combination of exercise, and a low calorie, nutritious diet. I experienced working out, but failing to see results because my eating habits were low, and I experienced a beneficial change in my body when I was following both exercise and nutritional plan. This component also led me to my second answer, making fitness a lifestyle. The last 30 days were very easy because healthy eating and exercise became part of my daily life; it is a habit now. The experience showed me that incorporating exercise and good nutrition into a person's schedule is the best way to reach one's fitness endeavors. I have read that in multiple articles, but I never understood how it was possible until I completed the last 40 days or so of my Independent Component.
